Living a healthy lifestyle is a principle that the BYU College of Nursing encourages its faculty and staff to fulfill. As a result, different initiatives take place every year to encourage faculty and staff to remain healthy physically, mentally and emotionally. The BYU College of Nursing was recognized by the BYU Wellness Department and received a platinum-level award in “recognition for establishing a healthy environment and engaging work culture.”

This year, activities included a reading challenge and a sleeping log. Faculty and staff were pushed to do things they normally wouldn’t have done. They collectively logged over 800 hours of leisure reading in one month, a feat that busy professionals normally can’t find time for.

Additionally, the college met the requirements for work-life balance and was deemed an above-average place of work.

At the College of Nursing, we are proud to promote health in the professional field as well as our own lives. Great job, everybody!

The mission of the College of Nursing at Brigham Young University is to learn the Healer’s art and go forth to serve.
