At this semester’s new student dinner, recently accepted nursing students had the opportunity to get helpful instruction from faculty, as well as some tasty Mexican food.
The students—representing eighteen states and two foreign countries— were shown just how exceptional their group is. The average GPA coming into the program is 3.84, and the average ACT score is 29.
Speakers included dean Dr. Patricia Ravert, associate deans Dr. Mary Williams and Dr. Kent Blad, and representatives of the Student Nursing Association. Topics ranged from learning by faith and how to more perfectly perform the Healer’s art.
Hyrum Prestwich and James Reinhardt, two of the six male students accepted this semester, are both keen to commence the nursing path and are grateful that they were accepted into the program.
“It’s a pleasant surprise for me,” Renheart says. Prestwork shares the same sentiment, and he says that he is excited to finally move beyond the GEs and begin actual nursing classes.
