BetterDoctor, an online tool used to find the right doctor in a matter of minutes, researched the 50 largest cities to determine which ones were healthiest, and Salt Lake City ranked number eight.

The study combined three different variables to reach its conclusion:

1. The American Fitness Index is a scale from 1-100 that measures things like exercise and eating habits. Salt Lake City scored 65.7.

2. BetterDoctor measured the quality and accessibility of health care in each city. Salt lake City has 4.17 doctors for 1000 people, and 7.84 percent of the doctors are highly rated.

3. About 84.2 percent of Salt Lake City’s residents have health insurance, making health care feasible.
